Swiss government in cooperation with NPA-GTC/MDD has ceded three Mine Detection Dogs to BH Army Demining battalion

14022013-5Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Deputy Minister of Defense, Ms. Marina Pendeš on behalf of the Ministry of Defense in the barracks "Božan Šimović" in Čapljina accept 3 mine detection dogs (MDD’s), given by Swiss government, which was handed over by Swiss ambassador in BiH dr. André Schaller.
Swiss Government, in cooperation with the Norwegian People's Aid support Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and together with 3 new MDD’s also gives a food, a package of veterinary and all other services required for new 3 MDD’s, and present 15 MDD’s that are in demining battalion of Brigade for tactical support of Armed Forces BiH in Čapljina. Delegation of the BiH MoD, the Swiss ambassador and Program manager of Norwegian People's Aid are welcomed by the Colonel Nihad Klinac. Demining battalion commander Colonel Dževad Zenunović briefed on the process of demining conducted with plans for the 2013th year. Norwegian People's Aid Global Training Centre MDD, through its program trained dog handlers, and on that occasion NPA Program manager Mr. Darvin Lisica handed certificates for the members of demining battalion who have successfully completed specified training.
Ms. Pendeš thanked the Swiss Government and the Norwegian People's Aid for the support provided for Armed Forces of Bosnia-Herzegovina, which is of great importance for improving the process of demining in BiH.
